DESCRIPTION:Come and learn about wild birds in the Berkshires, and the fie
 ldwork being done to study and protect them! Â Berkshire Bird Observatory&
 #039;sÂ Executive Director, Ben Nickley, will discuss and share slides abo
 ut BBO&#039;s first four years of conservation science in the Berkshires.Â
   As a small organization with a local focus, BBO is having a big impact i
 n the Berkshires while contributing data to large-scale conservation effor
 ts through their partnerships. In tandem with their scientific work, BBO i
 s building community and connecting people toÂ natureÂ through up-close ex
 periences with wild birds.Â  Their projects include songbird migration res
 earch, saw-whet owl monitoring, bird banding and the &quot;Kestrel Nest Bo
 x Project.&quot; Â Ben Nickley is a scientist with a passion for birds and
  the ecosystems they are an integral part of. Helping others connect with 
 the natural world through birds is his forte and his mission.Â This event 
 is one of numerous Flight Path programs, an initiative the library is part
 icipating in through the Spring. Â Be on the look out for more programs ab
 out birding, bird conservation and migration, and bird-related films and c
 raft workshops!
