Program Description

Event Details

Enjoy mixing poetry with images in this playful, experimental workshop, led by artist and teacher, Rachel Kurtz.  No artistic or poetic skill is necessary.  We will look at poetry comics and notice ways images and words together can create an exciting new poetic form. You will have a chance to try various forms and techniques to create both the visuals (drawn, cut out, and/or collaged) and the lines of poetry. For the text, you can use your own words and/or found language and/or lines from favorite poems. By the end of the workshop, you’ll learn to fold and create a mini poetry zine.

Space is limited, so please sign up soon!
