Program Description

Event Details

Are you wondering how to get a vegetable garden started for the first time? This workshop is for you!  Our presenter, a retired farmer, will provide tips and other practical info for anyone starting a vegetable garden this season (or thinking about it for next year) and will be followed by a Q&A.  We'll cover choosing a site, preparing the soil, which crops to grow, seeding, transplanting, plant care and protection, challenges, resources, and more.

The session will be led by Sharon Wyrrick, who after founding and farming at Many Forks Farm for 12 years, transitioned the farm to a new farmer last season and now turns her passionate vegetable growing to her home garden.
