Did you know that February is National Bird-Feeding Month? This is the time of year when it's harder for birds to find food, unfrozen water and safe shelter. So, we will get creative and help birds at the same time! Instead of decorating gingerbread houses with candy, we'll use bird-safe 'glue' and berries, seeds and other bird-healthy treats to decorate these edible houses. You can then bring them home and leave them outside for your backyard birds to enjoy.
Please sign up as bird house kits are limited! And, feel free to bring a friend or family member to work on this project together.
This event is one of numerous Flight Path programs, an initiative the library is participating in through the Spring. Be on the look out for more programs about birding, bird conservation and migration, and bird-related films and craft workshops!
