The David and Joyce Milne Public Library was awarded a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council to host a Cultural Showcase this spring.
Creative Experiences “offers grants to organizations (including schools) to fund festivals, projects, residencies, and other cultural activities” (Mass Cultural Council). With the awarded funds of $5,000 and support from the Friends of the David and Joyce Milne Public Library, the Cultural Showcase will celebrate the rich cultural backgrounds represented in Williamstown and across Berkshire County. The goal is to create a welcoming space for connection and learning through food, art, language, music, storytelling, and cultural traditions.
The Cultural Showcase will feature more than 30 Berkshire organizations where attendees are encouraged to “Explore the world in a day” through food, music, dance, crafts, and more.
We encourage patrons to walk or bike to the library if you are able to. Shuttle services will be available at the Williamstown Elementary School. You will park at the Elementary School or Youth Center and shuttle to the library. The shuttle will be running the duration of the showcase with 10-15 minute increments. Parking is also available at the Williams College Parking Garage and Clark Art's overflow parking (parking at the garage and the Clark's overflow parking will require walking to the library). A map showing these spots will be available soon.
Sponsored by the Friends of the Milne Public Library & Mass Cultural Council’s Creative Experiences Grant.
